SUMMARY<\/h4>\n

Aim<\/strong>: to assess the quality of advisory assistance to adolescent girls with non-traditional sexual orientation in order to increase the effectiveness of maintaining the reproductive health of the young female population of the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n

Materials and methods<\/strong> Anonymous survey of specialists (n = 65) who had experience advising teenage girls with non-traditional sexual orientation. The work used discriminatory statistics; the statistical differences in the distribution of gradations of the variable were estimated using the chi-square test for one sample. The calculations were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 22 software.<\/p>\n

Results<\/strong> The level of provision of comprehensive information to patients with specific needs regarding puberty and safe sexual behavior was rated as satisfactory. Doctors considered an important result of the consultation to be an increase in the teenager’s awareness of the possible risks and methods of their prevention \u2013 80% (p<0.05). A negative attitude of specialists to the ability of teenage girls to make informed decisions regarding their sexual identity was revealed (69.2%, p<0.05). Specialists showed interest in increasing the level of knowledge on the topic of sexual identification, orientation and safe behavior in sexually active adolescent girls with non-traditional sexual orientation (86%, p <0.05 and 61%, respectively).<\/p>\n

Conclusions<\/strong> The provision of high-quality counseling to adolescents at risk, as teenage girls with alternative sexual orientation, on the protection of sexual and reproductive health is in doubt, as it has revealed a negative attitude of specialists, among the respondents, to the girls’ ability to make informed decisions regarding their sexual identity. Improving the knowledge of doctors who provide counseling to adolescent girls on the topic of sexual identification and orientation will increase the effectiveness of maintaining the reproductive health of young women in the region.<\/p>\n
